We endeavour to ensure that securing your child a place at our nursery is as easy as possible. We have been established in the local area for over twenty years and have built a strong reputation amongst local families for our friendly, home-from-home environment. We hope you will book a visit soon to come and see for yourself. The simple steps below explain how you can go about securing a place for your child.

How to apply for your child to join our friendly nursery

1. Book a visit

There is no better way to learn about a nursery than by visiting it in person. We always recommend that you come and visit our setting before deciding if it is right for your child. We will show you around the rooms, introduce you to some of the staff, and answer any questions you may have. Please book a visit or get in touch if you would like to discuss your child’s place further.

2. Complete your registration form

At the end of your visit to the nursery, you will receive a welcome pack, including a new registration form which you should complete and return to us.

3. Submit an administration fee

Once we have received your completed application form, we will notify you via email and request payment for  £100 administration fee to secure your child’s place.

4. Final deposit

Approximately six months before your child is due to start at the nursery, we will request a deposit equivalent to one month’s fees. This is needed to complete the admissions process before your child’s first day. The nursery holds the deposit, which is applied to your child’s final invoice.

5. Prepare for your child's first day

When your final deposit has been received, you will receive various forms that must be completed online. Approximately one month before your child’s start date, we will arrange settling-in days, and you will be given information about his room and his proposed key person.

Please note that we are subject to high levels of demand for places in the nursery. Early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Other things you need to know

Fees

Fees are charged monthly in advance by standing order only. There is no refund for sickness or holidays. Part day sessions are only available for children over the age of three. For full details visit the fees and funding page.

Registration Information

Once you have decided to choose Footprints for the care of your child, a £100 administration fee will be charged to cover the time and paperwork that is needed to place them on our administration system. Every effort will be made to ensure you are given the days/sessions you prefer; however, it may be necessary to discuss an alternative. A minimum of two sessions must be taken in order to aid the settling-in process. Please download the registration form here: Registration Form1

Deposit Information

A deposit equal to one month’s fees will be payable on acceptance of a place. This will secure the place and will be held until two months’ notice is given and used in payment/part payment of the last month’s fees. In the absence of notice being given it will be retained in lieu of notice. The deposit is non-returnable in the event that your child does not take up his/her place. Two months’ notice must be given of your intention to reduce your child’s sessions.

Sibling Discount Information

If two children from the same family attend the Nursery at the same time, we offer a 10% sibling discount on the eldest child's fees.

Some helpful tips and advice on what to bring for your child to the nursery

A simple tracksuit or jumper with a t-shirt underneath is best on most days as we can layer clothes as needed to suit the weather at the time. Bringing a spare set of clothing along will help in the eventuality clothes get a little too messy through the day! Another consideration we ask parents to make is that of trousers with difficult openings – these can make toilet training difficult for your child.

Your child does not need to bring food, drinks or toys with them, except for a comfort toy to help them settle. The nursery supplies waterproof rain suits for all children to protect them from inclement weather. We also supply all nappies and nappy cream.
