Day Nursery
Where children grow and develop at one with nature

At Footprints Montessori Day Nursery, we provide a carefully balanced approach that combines a relaxed, home-from-home environment with the joy and excitement of learning through the Montessori philosophy.
We believe that every child should be given the time and space to explore and learn about the world around them at their own individual pace. We recognise the natural environment as one of the most valuable places for learning to take place, in all weather conditions.
Alongside well-resourced indoor learning spaces in every room, we place strong emphasis on regular access to our outdoor area. At the heart of everything we do is our commitment to nurturing and caring for each individual child in a safe, secure environment, enabling them to thrive, grow, and confidently prepare for their next steps in the world.

We’re dedicated in providing the finest quality of care, education and love for our children. In our nursery every child is free to develop at their own pace, and in the directions that most interest them using the Montessori approach to education.
Footprints is a privately owned nursery operated by Mrs Sandra Stedeford. Sandra is very proud of her nursery and her team, and would be delighted to show you around the nursery and its grounds.

Each room has its own unique atmosphere and personality, but all rooms follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and the Montessori philosophy. Each week, you will receive an update on what your child has been learning, their physical health, and their general well-being. Activities are planned according to the children’s interests as well as what they need to learn. Each member of the team is passionate about working with children and we want your child to feel safe, secure and most of all happy so that they can develop to their full potential. Children are closely observed in their play so that their interests can be nurtured and developed. We encourage children to investigate and explore their surroundings, and provide activities which enrich this important area of development.

Dr Montessori wrote that the most important period of life is the period from birth to the age of six years. “For that is the time when man’s intelligence itself is being formed. But not only his intelligence; the full totality of his psychic powers….At no other age has the child a greater need of an intelligent help, and any obstacle that impedes his creative work will lessen the chance he has of achieving perfection.”
