Our nursery is independently owned and operated. Supported by a carefully selected board of Directors who help to oversee the nursery.
The day to day running of the setting is the responsibility of the Owner, Sandra Stedeford, who works in the nursery each day. Sandra is assisted by managers Michelle Williams and Laura Sykes, along with a team of qualified and experienced nursery practitioners who work in the five nursery rooms and a qualified and experienced chef. Our safeguarding leads are Sandra and Michelle and our SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) is Helen Payne. Our staff range in age from 18 to 70 which we think is a great asset to the setting and brings a range of life experiences to draw from.
All staff at the nursery have undergone an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS), are trained in Paediatric First Aid and safeguarding children. They are all significantly involved in continuous training to ensure they remain able to deliver the highest level of education.
When your child starts nursery they will be allocated a ‘key-person’ who will be responsible for settling them and you in at nursery and progressing their learning. During their time at the setting, they will also have a buddy key person in case their key person is on holiday or off sick. The key-person will change as your child moves from room to room but we have an effective transition approach which helps to settle the child into the next room and of course all your child’s key persons will continue to show an interest in your child as they move through the nursery. The key person will observe and interact with your child and send you observations and photographs via their online learning journey which you can comment on or add to if you wish. Observations of your child will inform next steps and future planning which are based on their particular interests and stage of development.
